I let the weekend sale run an extra day because I had enough stock to cover it, but I'm closing blog sales of full-size bottles now.  I'll have more sales in the future, and Desert Fruit will definitely be available again.  :)

I'll continue to take orders for mini bottles, and Desert Fruit is now added to the lineup of mini bottles.

Thanks so much to everyone who placed orders over the weekend!  Half the orders went out today and the other half will go out tomorrow.

Desert Fruit Swatches/Sale

I have a new polish for you guys!  In honor of this new polish, I will open blog sales of full size bottles for everyone who orders the new polish (meaning if you order Desert Fruit, you can also order full-size bottles of any of the original six polishes: Inky Fingers, Purple Smoke, Gilded Oak, Creeping Moss, Firebrand, and Bright Night).

Sales of Desert Fruit/other full-size bottles start now and will go through the end of the weekend (provided I have enough stock to last that long).  I will post here again when the sales are closed.

Now onto the new polish...

Desert Fruit (red-toned purple with red/bronze shimmer)

This polish was inspired by one of my favorite discontinued polishes.  I won't name the discontinued polish here, but the name of my polish is a clue.  :)

Desert Fruit is packed with shimmer and is opaque in two coats.  These swatches show two coats Desert Fruit and one coat Seche Vite.

A few notes about the pictures in this post

All pictures were taken in direct sunlight.

The swatches look slightly more red/less purple than they actually do in direct sunlight; the bottle shots are more representative of how this polish looks in the sun.  (My camera tends to show red-purple manis as more red than they actually are.)

Please see sidebar for details on how to place an order, and please let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

The Big Day is Here!

That's right, Contrary Polish will be available on Llarowe today!  Leah Ann will be adding stock at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM (Central).  I'm so excited and grateful for the opportunity to have my products featured in the Llarowe webstore.  :)

Blog Sales

The blog will now be temporarily closed to full-size polish orders, in order to make sure I have enough time and materials to fill orders for Llarowe.  I plan on periodically opening the blog for full-size bottle orders, and I will announce any openings ahead of time, both here and on the Contrary Polish Facebook page.

I will continue to take orders through the blog for mini polishes, since those will not be stocked at Llarowe and I'd like my customers to still have them as an option.

If you have any questions please let me know, and please check out the Contrary Polish page at Llarowe beginning today at 2:00 pm Central!

Cosmetic Sanctuary Swatches

Lisa from Cosmetic Sanctuary just posted her Contrary Polish swatches, and I'm absolutely loving them!  Check them out here:
http://www.cosmeticsanctuary.com/contrary-polish-spam/

Also, I wanted to let you all know that I've upgraded the full-size bottle labels to a professionally-printed laminate label, so it looks blacker/glossier, and it shouldn't smudge if it gets wet.  All full-size bottles purchased/shipped anytime after August 18 have the new labels.  If you purchased polishes from me prior to that date and would like me to send you replacement labels, please email me to let me know, and I'll be happy to take care of it for you.

I'm looking into upgrading the mini bottle labels as well, but it's a little trickier since the label is so small.  I will post again once I've been able to find a printer who can do them for me.

Thanks for reading!

Exciting News!

Leah Ann from Llarowe announced today on her Facebook page that she will be adding Contrary Polish to her site later this week.  I'm absolutely thrilled to be offered alongside the other amazing brands Llarowe carries!

What this means for blog sales

I will continue to sell via the blog this week.  After that I will be closing blog sales in order to ensure that I can continue to produce enough bottles for Llarowe.  I will periodically open the blog for sales whenever I'm able.  Those openings will be announced here and on the Contrary Polish Facebook page beforehand.

One exception: I'm considering leaving blog sales of mini bottles open at all times, since Llarowe will not be stocking the minis.  I know sometimes people aren't ready to commit to the full-size bottle right off the bat, so if at all possible I'd like to make sure my customers still have the option to order minis.

Please feel free to comment or email if you have any questions, and thanks so much for visiting my blog!

Contrary Polish Swatches and Bottle Pictures

Inky Fingers (purple with blue and green shimmer)

This polish is almost opaque in one coat and completely opaque in two.  These swatches show two coats Inky Fingers and one coat Seche Vite.

Purple Smoke (blue grey with purple and blue shimmer)

This polish is opaque in two coats.  I prefer wearing it in thin coats, to highlight the shimmer and increase wear time.  These swatches show two thin coats Purple Smoke and one coat Seche Vite.

Gilded Oak (plummy brown with golden shimmer)

This polish has more of a foil/metallic finish than the others.  The shimmer is predominantly gold, but there is a bit of multi-colored shimmer too.  These swatches show two coats Gilded Oak and one coat Seche Vite.

Creeping Moss (olive brown with pink and copper shimmer)

The first coat of this polish goes on semi-sheer (somewhat similar to a jelly polish), but it is opaque in two coats.  These swatches show two coats Creeping Moss and one coat Seche Vite.

Firebrand (deep raspberry jelly with red and pink shimmer)

This polish is a jelly/shimmer hybrid.  The first coat shows a light raspberry shade and the second coat achieves the bottle color of deep raspberry.  These swatches show two coats Firebrand and one coat Seche Vite.

Bright Night (deep blue jelly with aqua and silver shimmer)

Like Firebrand, this polish is a jelly/shimmer hybrid.  The first coat looks almost turquoise but the second coat darkens to a true blue.  These swatches show two coats Bright Night and one coat Seche Vite.

A few notes about the pictures in this post

All pictures were taken in direct sunlight in my backyard.  (Please forgive the reflections of the trees in some of the shots!)

I sometimes tilt the bottles to better capture the shimmer, so you may notice a few oddly-located air bubbles.  Also, if some of those bubbles seem larger than they should be, that’s because these are my personal bottles of these polishes, and all have been used for multiple manis.  Any bottles I sell will be filled to the bottom of the neck, so no worries there.  :)

Please see sidebar for details on how to place an order, and please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
